Product Care
All products require minimal care after the product is fitted, here are some tips to extend the life of the product.
Brassware will, with care, provide many years of enjoyment and will offer value for money in the long term.
Lacquered brass products should only be cleaned with a damp soapy cloth and then wiped with a dry soft duster. Under no circumstances should any type of metal cleaning products be used as this will destroy the lacquer.
However over time, the protective lacquer will start to deteriorate and breakdown. When this happens it will be necessary to completely remove the lacquer with a lacquer or paint stripper.
Once the lacquer has been removed, the brass will need to be polished on a regular basis.
Other Plated items should be treated with a damp soapy cloth and then wiped with a dry soft duster, with care taken not to scratch.
Powder Coated items should provide good protection against the product from rusting, however any chips in the finish could be touched up with a matching coloured metal paint .
Items which have moving parts can be lubricated with a basic household lubricant oil and / or a moisture displacer (such as WD40 or similar product)
